Mac or PC?
Well, I am in the market for a new computer. My current desktop PC is pretty darn slow and I am almost running out of disk space. Since it is back-to-school time I hear this is the best time of the year to buy a computer. It also doesn’t hurt that I received my bonus money from work last month.
So my dilemma now is do I get a PC or a Mac? I know I definitely want the portability of a laptop so I have narrowed it down to a Macbook or this Toshiba that is on sale at Future Shop.
Being a computer programmer you would think my first choice is a PC, however I have been extremely disappointed with my Windows Vista experience and I feel like it may be time for me to try something new. The SDK from Apple is very tempting. Building an iPhone app is definitely on my list of things to try and I would need a Mac for that. I also hear that once you go Mac then you can never go back.
Then again I have read that Windows 7 is pretty promising (wish I had tried the free trial version when I had the chance). I suppose any OS could be better than Vista! And of course the price tag of a Windows laptop is significantly cheaper than a MacBook. I feel like I could get more functionality from a PC though. Or maybe I am just too scared to make the switch?
At this point I am leaning more towards the Windows laptop. Could also be the influence from the husband (btw he is not too thrilled about Macs). I also feel that Apple is somewhat evil (that is a completely different topic of its own) but then I also understand that they make certain decisions for business reasons (and they are a successful company after all – for now). BTW I am still kicking myself for not buying Apple shares when they were selling at $28 per share before the split.
Anyhow, I think the next time I update I will either be the owner of a new Windows laptop or a new Macbook. Which one shall it be?
Introduction
Well hello there. Welcome to my blog.
I am a techie mom with an energetic toddler and a cute little Dachshund. My field of work is related to technology and finances hence the interest in both. I like gadgets (I heart my iPhone), photography, crafts (mostly sewing related), baking, dolls, and many other things. I love my family so I will likely mention them a lot around here.
I have too many webpages. I think the Internet rocks.
I am writing this entry from my iPhone with the WordPress app. I think this is pretty cool. Perhaps I will try to update often.
Bye.
